Poll Everywhere Used for Formative Assessment

Poll Everywhere is a free online service that enables educators to ask their students a query.  Students view and reply to the query via web browsers (mobile devices or PCs), or texts.  Using Poll Everywhere enhances the classroom by creating an open and honest environment where student replies can remain anonymous (if desired) to the audience and teacher.  Additional uses of Poll Everywhere include letting the teacher know when an assignment is complete, making predictions, and assessing student understanding.  A membership to this easy-to-use service is free, but upgrades are available for an additional fee if desired.

Using ClassDojo Effectively

The purpose of my presentation was to give educators and insight into how this app can be utilized in their classroom. I decided to give a layout of the website as well as point on some topics and skills that I had found useful when observing a teacher in an actual classroom use the app. I feel like this app can be used as a method of communication in a safe space as well as a motivator for students to be on task and behave. This app needs more recognition and should be used in schools across the country.
